Solitary Geyser Trail Description
The Solitary Geyser Trail is a short and sweet hike in Yellowstone National Park. This trail gets very popular, especially during the tourist season. If you are visiting Yellowstone in the summertime, we recommend heading out on this trail early in the morning to beat the crowds. The Solitary Geyser Trail gives you great views of the iconic Old Faithful. Old Faithful erupts approximately 20 times a day on a fairly predictable schedule. Make sure you time your hike along the Solitary Geyser Trail to catch Old Faithful in action.
Beginning at Old Faithful Lodge, follow the boardwalk as it curves around the east side of Old Faithful, then take the Upper Geyser Hill Trail across the Firehole River. On the other side of the river, take the path on your right to loop around the Observation Point Trail counterclockwise.
When you find yourself back at the Firehole River, simply retrace your steps back to Old Faithful Lodge, where you began.
