Mystic Falls Description
The Mystic Falls Trail is a fantastic hike in Yellowstone National Park. The hike to Mystic Falls is relatively easy; however, it is not wheelchair accessible or stroller-friendly. Even though this trail follows a well-maintained boardwalk for most of it, we strongly recommend wearing proper hiking footwear as the trail around the falls is loose and rocky. Please exercise caution while you explore the falls and watch your footing.
With stunning views, a good amount of shade, and so much to explore, the trail to the Mystic Falls is almost as wonderful as the falls themselves… almost. The Mystic Falls are stunning; this 70-foot tall cascade is truly an impressive sight that is guaranteed to take your breath away.
To hike to Mystic Falls, begin at the Biscuit Basin Trailhead, cross over the bridge and follow the trail westward past pools and geysers for 0.6mi to a divide. At this divide, take the path on your left to follow the north bank of the Firehole River for 0.7mi to Mystic Falls.
Revel in the beauty of Mystic falls, and be sure to capture some photographs before turning around and retracing your steps back to the Biscuit Basin Trailhead where you began.
If you are up to explore more, this hike can be extended along the Mystic Falls Lollipop Loop.
