A short hike, with incredible views, the Clagett Butte to Snow Pass Loop is a great way to spend an afternoon exploring the Wyoming wilderness.

Clagett Butte and Snow Pass Circuit Description
The Clagett Butte and Snow Pass Trail is a wonderful hiking circuit in the northwestern corner of Yellowstone National Park. This route is a steep and steady climb up and over Snow Pass. Proper, supportive hiking footwear is essential for this trail, and we strongly recommend bringing hiking poles to aid in your ascent and save your joints some strain on the way down. This scenic route is rated as moderately challenging, but it can be a good hike for families with older children.
Beginning at the Sepulcher Mountain Trailhead, follow the trail westward along Clematis Creek to hike the circuit counterclockwise. Stay to the trail on your left at the following divides to make your way past Clagett Butte, over Snow Pass, then back to the Sepulcher Mountain Trailhead where you began.
