Iron Bear via Teanaway Ridge Trail Description
Hiking to Iron Bear on Teanaway Ridge Trail is about as calm as a summit hike can get. The trail, while used for several different activities, is often very quiet. The forest is beautiful and the route is well maintained. A high clearance vehicle is recommended for the drive to the trailhead.
Beginning from the trailhead, set out along the creek, which you’ll cross before heading up a set of switchbacks. Cross the creek again as the trail curves to the left. Three more crossings follow in fairly short order. Take a sharp turn around the foot of a ridge and start climbing. Traverse to the western ridge and then take two final switchbacks to the top. From here, it’s back down the same way you came.
