The short trail around Linnet Lake is a beautiful paved path that has great interpretive signs. The small lake is in the heart of the Waterton National Park and offers fantastic photo opportunities. You’ll see grand vistas of the famous Prince of Wales Hotel and Vimy Peak over Middle Waterton Lake.
Getting there
You can get to the Linnet Lake trailhead from the Waterton townsite by walking towards the Prince of Wales Hotel and joining the trail from there. You can also take Highway 5 and pull into the parking area on the right just beyond the Prince of Wales Hotel and close to the information centre.
Linnet Lake Trail Description
Linnet Lake is a short walk around a lake equipped with interpretive signs. This is a great addition to exploring the Prince of Wales area. You’ll learn some history from the interpretive signs while enjoying views of Middle Waterton Lake and Vimy Peak.
This trail is paved and perfect for strollers and hikers of all abilities. Join the Kootenai Brown Trail if you are looking for a longer trip.
