Worlds End and Patching Circular Walk

The Worlds End and Patching Circular Walk is suitable for the whole family; however, there are some gentle gradients throughout this path, but they are suitable for children. There will also be four stiles as well as several gates, which you will have to maneuver. But they do have large gaps for dogs to step through.

The path takes you through the English countryside, boasts beautiful views and immerses you into nature through the woodlands. The area is also full of deer, horses and many other animals, so keep your eyes out for them! There is also a maze of cornfields along this path that you can walk through and explore, or you can walk all the way around.

This walk begins at the Worlds Ends Pub car park and has you cross Arundel Road. Continue along the road until you reach Seldon House, where you will turn right to keep on track. Passing through a kissing gate will lead you to an open, grassy field, which you will follow until you reach the hedgerow. Walk through this and through the gate into another open field and then a third open field. Keep a lookout here for some deer frolicking. You will come to a stile, which you will navigate and then turn left to enter Jewshead Wood.

Wander along this downhill, grassy path and take in the pretty scenery. You will then come to an unmade farm track and turn right where you will emerge from the forest. Continue along the path to the crop fields, decide if you would like to go through this or go around and then in both instances, you will reach a stile. Continue on the path back into the woodlands, and when you emerge again, you will see another crop field as well as Patching Hill. At this point, continue on the path and take in the stunning views of the rolling hills in the distance and the crown of Patching Church. You will arrive at St. John’s Church, which you can visit if you choose, and continue to the left to get to the road in Patching Village.

Follow the path past cottages with beautiful thatched roofs, and you will come across another stile. Navigate through the stile and wander through an open meadow to another stile. You will then reach a stream; follow this stream along the path until you reach Worlds End Pub, where you began your walk.
