Seal Rocks Beach Trail Description

Admire the quintessential San Francisco landmarks along the Seal Rocks Beach Trail. This amazing adventure travels past the Sutro Baths, historic batteries, and down to the Lands End overlook. Traveling along the coastal bluffs, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Pacific and the bounding headlands, not to mention scenes of the world’s most famous bridge. Note this path is busy, so expect to share the trail, no matter the time of day you head out!

Embark on your adventure along the Seal Rocks Beach Trail from the trailhead and parking lot off Point Lobos Avenue. From here, track the westernmost path down the staircase to the Sutro Baths. Explore the Baths and marvel at the views of the surf, merging onto the Sutro Baths Upper Trail. Follow this route back up the bluff, turning left onto Coastal Trail at the intersection. The Coastal Trail will lead you along the coastal cliffs, atop Seal Rock Beach, to a junction signposted as Lands End/Labyrinth.

Turn left here and meander down the vertiginous terrain to an epic overlook of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands, and the impressive outcrops that adorn the shoreline. When you are through marveling in the scenery, retrace your footing along the route back to the trailhead.
