Golden Gate Bridge via Baker Beach Trail Description

This adventure boasts unparallel vistas of the Pacific and the notable San Francisco landmarks. This wonderful trail traces the rugged coastline before wandering across the famous bridge to North Bay. Note this route is well revered, so be prepared to share the trail! Don’t forget to charge the camera and head out at dawn and dusk to enjoy the colorful skyline. Note the northernmost point of Bakers Beach is clothing optional.

Setting out from the Battery Chamberlin, the Golden Gate Bridge via Baker Beach Trail wanders north along the Coastal Trail, running parallel to Baker Beach. Enjoy the scene from the overlook near the trailhead, then continue along the Coastal Trail, passing the Pacific Overlook and historic batteries. Merge onto Merchant Road, then cross beneath the bridge to the Bridge Café. From here, merge onto the Golden Gate Bridge East Sidewalk and wander across the world’s most famous bridge.

Enjoy the scenes of the Bay Area, including Alcatraz and Angel Island. After crossing the bridge, you can continue on further, or turn around and backtrack the way you came to the trailhead.
