Bear Lake Trail Description
The Bear Lake hike makes for a fantastic day-trip getaway from Prince George—or you can make a few days out of it by booking a spot at the Crooked River Provincial Park Campground. Enjoy the short circumnavigation around the lake before spending the rest of the day relaxing on the sandy beach. Do note that dogs aren’t allowed in the day-use area and must be kept on a leash at all times on the trail.
Setting out from the car park, head directly to the lake and follow Bear Lake Trail to walk around it. You can go in either direction, but our route takes you left. This trail hugs the lake until it takes you back to the parking lot. However, you can always extend your hike by following the Bear Lake Trail veering away from the lake and connecting with the Crooked River Trail. You can create your own adventure!
After, pull out a picnic and enjoy a day at the lake, where you can kayak, canoe, float, or relax on the sandy beach.
