Slab Camp Trail Description

Slab Camp Trail is a mid-distance moderate hike in Olympic National Forest with no technical challenges required. This hike doesn’t boast the most incredible views, but it’s very calming to walk through the forest and there’s a great picnic spot at the end of the trail on the river. Note that most of your elevation gain will occur on the return trip.

Begin from the trailhead, heading south alongside the river. There are two trails that begin from the same trailhead and you’ll want to take the one on your left.

You’ll soon drop down two switchback turns to lose elevation, then continue to drop as you traverse down the valley wall. Hiking next to the river once again, you’ll curve to your right and cross the water to end your trail at the junction with Gray Wolf Trail.

From here, retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
