The Hoh River Trail meanders along the Hoh River Valley with lush rainforest on either side, leading you to the hidden Mineral Creek Falls. This easy hike is suitable for all ages and perfect on a sunny day. You can plan to camp at the campsites along the trail to make a weekend out of it or just use this trail as a chance to get into nature without much difficulty. Enjoy lush mosses and an enchanting forest.
This trail does get busy, so try to visit outside of peak hours if you’re able to.
Getting there
The trailhead for the Hoh River Trail is in the parking loop at the visitor center off Upper Hoh Road.

Mineral Creek Falls via Hoh River Trail Description
The Hoh Rainforest is one of the top destinations in Olympic National Park, and the hike on Hoh River Trail to Mineral Creek Falls is a highly enjoyable adventure suitable for beginners. This hike begins in the verdant rainforest, then follows the river through the valley to the falls before returning.
Start from the trailhead, heading up near the visitor center. You’ll want to take the Mini Trail on the right, crossing the river and staying right for a couple steps before turning left onto the Hoh River Trail. Able along the river on the mostly level path, enjoying the flowing water and the moss-clad trees.
The falls are visible from the trail at the turnaround point. They’re tucked into the impossibly green forest, making for a lovely photo.
When you’re ready, retrace your steps along the river and through the forest back to the trailhead.
