Route Description for Klahhane Ridge
Find the eastern-most trail and begin heading up it. Initially the trail is paved; however, it will turn to dirt. Veer right at all the junctions and gain a small amount of elevation to a ridge. Here you will be able to look out and see the immense skyline of snow-covered mountains to the south. You might be able to see Eagle Point to the southeast.
Descend a short ways from this viewpoint to a junction. You will veer right again, following signs for Klahhane Ridge. Descend a short ways, along a treeless alpine bowl. The crowds will now thin considerably.
This trail undulates up and down as you follow the alpine ridge towards Mt. Angeles. You will reach an unmarked junction at the end of the main ridge. Turn right and descend a short ways, contouring along the south flank of Mt Angeles.
The trail you’re on meets up with the switchback trail halfway across the east shoulder of Mt. Angeles. Merge onto the trail and begin switchbacking up. Here is the brunt of the elevation gain for the hike, and to add to that it is quite sun exposed, so take your time.
Finally, you will clear the pass and have some absolutely stunning views in all directions. Looking south, the aforementioned snowy-peak skyline will still fill the horizon, with the immense Mount Olympus to the right. Looking west the striated Mt Angeles looms above you, and Second Top sits to the north. If you look in the foreground to the south, you will easily be able to see the beautiful Steeple Rock Pillar.
After enjoying the stunning views, return the way you came.

Insider Hints
Make sure to do this hike on a clear day. When we did this hike some smoke blew in halfway through, which detracted from the views as we hiked back.

This was by far the absolute best weekend we've have ever had. There are many points to take in the incredible views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the San Juan Islands, Mount Baker, the Cascades, and Vancouver Island, so make sure you turn around!

Excellent single track, very well maintained. Would like to return and hope for more expansive views, still; enjoyed swimming in the wisps of fog at Mount Angeles.
