The walk through Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park is a beautifully scenic adventure just south of Belfast that offers a number of fascinating highlights and beautiful views. While out on the trail, you will meander through the meadows and forests of the park, while taking in the sights of the 1859 Wilmont House and the City of Belfast International Gardens. This is a great walking route for a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts.

Whether you are looking to take the kids out for some exercise, visit interesting historical sites, or simply to head out for a bit of rest and relaxation, the Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park Walk will be sure to meet your needs. This lovely park adventure passes through the historic grounds of Wilmont House and will provide access to woodlands, meadows, and gardens, allowing you to fully reconnect with nature.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the northeast through the forest, before being greeted with some lovely meadow views on your left. From here, the trail will loop around to the southwest and continue through the forest, offering some nice views of the gardens before meeting up with the Lagan River.
From here, you will continue to the southeast along the water’s edge in order to pass by the walled gardens and the children’s playground. In this southwest corner of the trail, you will also find The Stables Coffee Shop, which is an excellent place for refreshments. Follow the path as it heads to the north, passing by the 1859 Wilmont House and Japanese Garden, before arriving back at the car park where you began.
