Helen’s Tower Walk

Constructed by Frederick Temple-Blackwood, the 5th Baron of Dufferin and Claneboye and named after his mother Helen, Helen’s tower is an exceptional example of Scottish Baronial architecture and is situated atop a small hill, providing some nice views over the surrounding landscape. This makes the route an excellent option for anyone interested in history or science views.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the southeast along the track and follow it past the waters of Tower Lake. Shortly after passing by the lake, you will make a sharp right along the trail and head through the dense cover of the forest. After climbing uphill through the woodland landscape, you will arrive at the site of Helen’s Tower, where you can explore the 19th Century structure and the surrounding area. After you have finished, simply follow the same trail back to your vehicle.
