Studley Royal Walk Description
The Studley Royal Walk takes you on a wonderful stroll along the Ripon River, where deer sightings are abundant. Beginning at the Ripon Cathedral, head over the bridge that crosses River Skell and walk down the concrete steps that lead to the riverbank. Continue to follow the path and you will arrive at the Fountains Abbey sign, follow this path and enter Studley Park. Here you can marvel at the beauty of the water gardens and then move along the stone fence until you reach the park’s exit.
You will come to an open field and walk along the grassy paths passing the Whitecliffe Hall Farm and the Whitcliffe Grange Livery, where you can enjoy expansive views of Ripon and Rion Cathedral. You will then come across the Hell Wath Grove sign, where you will continue straight and pass a few football pitches. You will see a wooden gate, where you will not pass through, but rather turn right and follow the tree line. River Skell will appear again, and you will follow the path back to where you began, as this is a circuit walk.
