The Tamanawas Falls via East Fork Trail is a fantastic adventure in Mount Hood National Forest that leads hikers to a secluded waterfall. While out on the trail you will travel through a beautiful forest landscape and hike alongside Cold Spring Creek to reach Tamanawas Falls, before gaining some elevation for a return through the tree cover. This is a fun day hike for those who love exploring the forest.

With a small amount of elevation gain and a beautifully scenic waterfall for views, the Tamanawas Falls via East Fork Trail is a great hike in Mount Hood National Forest that won’t take too much time out of your day.

Setting out from the Polallie Trailhead, you will head west across OR-35 and follow the trail as it turns south and runs parallel to the road. Eventually, you will cross over the waters of Cold Spring Creek and head west, following alongside the winding creek as it leads through a ravine.

After hiking through the ravine, you will arrive at the secluded site of Tamanawas Falls, where you can relax and take in the sights and sounds of the cascade. When you’ve finished up, head back along the trail and turn left at the fork to climb uphill and out of the ravine. Here, you will hike to the northeast and descend towards the road and trailhead where you began your adventure along the Tamanawas Falls via East Fork Trail.
