The Tunnel Arch and Pine Tree Arch Trail

The Pine Tree Arch and Tunnel Arch Trail is a popular subsection of the Devils Garden Loop in Arches National Park. This trail is family-friendly and reasonably flat, so it's a great place to bring the kids for a day exploring in the desert. This route can be extended to include a visit to other iconic arches in the area including Landscape Arch, Navajo Arch, and the remains of Wall Arch.
Getting there
The Tunnel Arch and Pine Tree Arch Trail begins at the Devil’s Garden Trailhead. This trailhead is at the end of Main Park Road, approximately 18 miles from the Arches Visitor Center off of highway 191.

The Tunnel Arch and Pine Tree Arch Trail Description
The Hike to Pine Tree Arch and Tunnel Arch is a great family-friendly route in the Devils Garden Area of Arches National Park. This hike can be hot and sunny, so bring lots of sunscreen, lots of water, and a good sunhat for everyone in your hiking group. The Devils Garden Area is a popular section of Arches, so be prepared to run into lots of other folks on the trail.
This Pine Tree Arch and Tunnel Arch trail is great for families as it is relatively flat and stops by two of the eight iconic arches of Devils Garden in just one short mile. Bring a camera—these arches are both unique and picturesque formations in impressive fins of desert sandstone.
From the Devils Garden Trailhead, follow the well-defined trail northwest. Take the first right and follow the path a couple hundred yards to another divide. The trail to your left will take you over to Pine Tree Arch and the trail on the right will take you to Tunnel Arch.
Check out both of these stunning sandstone structures before turning around and heading back to the trailhead. If you want to spend more time in the area, Landscape Arch is just down the main trail, and is followed by the remains of Wall Arch—a massive structure that collapsed in the summer of 2008.
