Sand Dune Arch Trail Description

The Sand Dune Arch Trail is a short, out-and-back hike to a beautiful arch just off of Main Park Road in Arches National Park. This path to this arch is very sandy, so be prepared to slog through the sand and dump the small sandboxes that will accumulate in your hiking shoes. Alternatively, embrace the beachy vibes of this trail and hike along barefoot to the beautiful Sand Dune Arch.

The Sand Dune Arch trail gets a lot of shade, so it is a great option for a hot, sunny day. This hike is a lot of fun for kids of all ages and allows them to get out and explore the many wonders of Arches National Park. The Sand Dune Arch is one of the prettiest arches in the area and it is totally worth the little hike over to see it.

From the Sand Dune Arch Trailhead, follow the path northeast for about 400ft to the first divide. Take a right at the junction and follow the trail another 500ft to the arch itself. Enjoy your time exploring under and around this beautiful structure.

If Sand Dune Arch was your only destination for the day, just follow the same path back out to the parking lot. If you are looking for more adventures in the area, the Sand Dune Arch Trail access connects with the Broken Arch Trail to Broken Arch and to Tapestry Arch as well.
