Mountain View Trail via Warner Campground Description

The Mountain View Trail is an excellent hike up from the Warner Campground in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Wildlife, including bears, are often seen along this trail—never feed any wildlife you encounter and give the animals lots of space. This trail is consistently steep the whole way—good, supportive footwear is essential and hiking poles can save you some strain on the way up (and down). This hike is cool and shady as it tracks through the aspen, pine, and evergreen forest, then emerges up top to a breathtaking view of the valley below and the La Sal Range to the east. For such a beautiful trail, this hike sees relatively low traffic, so it’s a great place to go with loved ones for some peace and quiet, and to watch the sunset over the Utah horizon.

From the Warner Campground, follow the trail northeast. 0.8mi in you will reach the junction of Mountain View Trail and Miner’s Basin Trail. Take a right to follow Mountain View Trail for the next mile up to the highpoint.

Take a rest up top and enjoy the views of the La Sal Mountain range to the east before following the same path back to the campground.
