Moonflower Canyon Trail Description

The Moonflower Canyon Trail is a great route for hikers of all ages. This trail follows a creek bed and, over the years, many different paths have been worn down, so it can feel a bit confusing. Don’t worry; all of these paths are heading to the same place—just choose your favourite one and follow the trail to the canyon’s end. Look for the petroglyphs at the Moonflower trailhead—remember not to touch or deface these glyphs in any way. Let’s preserve this piece of history for future generations! This hike is a fantastic way to get out with the kids for some learning, playing, and exploring just outside of Moab.

Look for the petroglyph panel from the trailhead at Moonflower Campground before heading down the creek into the canyon. Follow the trail for 0.3mi to the canyon terminus.

Take a rest at the end of the canyon before turning around and following your footsteps back to the campground trailhead.
