The Clark Lake Loop is a beautiful forest hike that connects Clark lake with Oowah Lake in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. This hike is dog-friendly as long as your pup is kept on leash for the duration of your adventure. The Clark Lake Loop is a great place to see the flora and fauna of the Manti-La Sal.
Getting there
From Moab, follow highway 191 southeast out of town and take the turn off onto La Sal Loop Road. Follow La Sal Loop Road for 13.5mi then take a right onto Forest Road 0076. Follow this road for 2.9mi to the end of the road at Oowah lake. The Clark Lake Loop begins and ends here.

Clark Lake Loop Description
The Clark Lake Loop is a beautiful circuit around two lakes in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. This trail has some steep sections, so good footwear is necessary and hiking poles are recommended. There is good fishing to be had in Oowah lake at the beginning of this trail; a fishing license can be acquired through the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources here. This trail is used by hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders, so be sure to let folks pass you on your hike, and always keep your dog on a leash.
From the trailhead at Oowah Lake, take a left to follow the trail clockwise. 1.1mi down the trail, you will reach a fork at Clark Lake. Take a right to continue on the loop. 1.0mi past here, the trail will divide again, continue on to the right to hike the last 0.6mi back to the trailhead.
Cool off in Oowah Lake or go for a fish before heading home or on to the next adventure.
