Three Lochs Way: Arrochar/Tarbert to Inveruglas Trail Description
The Three Lochs Way: Arrochar/Tarbert to Inveruglas walk is the fourth and final section of the legendary Three Lochs Way long-distance walking route. The walk features amazing views of the Arrochar Alps and unfolds on good paths and tarmac roads with very mild inclines, making it a great, accessible walk for all.
To begin the walk, head under the railway line to join the path that heads into the woods. When a T-junction is reached, turn left, heading through the birch and oak forest to continue the trail. You’ll soon reach a bench where you can pause to enjoy the views out towards The Cobbler and Beinn Narnain. The trail continues up Glen Loin before crossing an old wooden footbridge where you’ll soon discover views of Ben Vorlich’s southern end, towering majestically up ahead. Cross the Inveruglas Water to continue on the track that soon turns into a tarmac road, leading you back down the glen. Pass the electricity substation and continue the route, which soon links to a cycleway which you’ll walk on, crossing over several tracks and guiding you towards the large power station of Inveruglas. A brief stretch on pavement takes you across the road to the large car park at the Inveruglas Visitors Centre, where the walk concludes. To return to Arrochar & Tarbet, you can take the bus or the train from Inverglas following the walk.
