Taylor Creek Loop Description

Immerse yourself in the wilderness along the Taylor Creek Loop. This laid back nature trail is easy to navigate and wonderfully scenic. Presenting the perfect excuse to get out into the fresh air, this year-round adventure boasts great views and a good workout. In the winter months, be sure to strap on a pair of microspikes or snowshoes for better footing! Note: there are often bears spotted along this route, so consider wearing a bear bell and bring bear spray as a deterrent! Once your camera is charged and your shoes are laced, you’re ready for your adventure!

Setting out from the Cathedral Parking Lot, the Taylor Creek Loop wanders south along the Cathedral Road. Hiking along the shoulder of the road, you will eventually reach the Taylor Creek Trailhead. Head south and keep left at the first intersection, where you will approach Taylor Creek. The path will soon reroute you east over Taylor Creek and along the northern shore of Fallen Leaf Lake. Enjoy the stunning scenery and continue trekking northeast. Turn left at the next junction, then take a sharp right onto the Moraine Trail.

Meander along this route, keeping left at the next trail fork to hike north through the woodlands and along the creek. Eventually, you will reach the trail’s end and turn left onto Emerald Bay Road, followed by another left onto Cathedral Road which will deliver you back to the parking lot.
