Setting out from here, hike the Lam Watah Historic Trail northwest, past Jennings Pond, ideal for birdwatching. Keeping right at the first intersection, you will wander through Rabe Meadows. Continue trekking north, admiring the scenery, and you will eventually reach an intersection. Take the middle route, heading west into the forestlands. Enjoy the shade of pines and red first, and the sights of the wildflower-lined path. Follow this route southwest, weaving between meadows and woodlands, and you will eventually reach the Nevada Beach Campground. Venture through the campground, out to the shores of Lake Tahoe.

Take your time here, marveling at the beauty of the glittering alpine lake and the vaulted Sierra Nevada Mountains that line the horizon. Dip your toes in the chilly waters, and when you are through exploring the shoreline, head back east to the trail. At this point, you will take the rightmost route along the Kahle/Rabe Meadow Trail. As the name suggests, this path will guide hikers east, meandering through lush meadowlands. As you make your way back to the trailhead, the path will near Kahle Drive. Follow this route all the way back to the parking lot and trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
