Getting there
To reach the car park for the Knott Rigg Walk from Buttermere, head east on B5289 for 400ft and make a slight left. Continue on for 1.2mi to arrive at the car park.

Knott Rigg Walk Description
Walking the Knott Rigg Trail is a quick, but wonderfully scenic route that can be enjoyed by all Lake District adventurers regardless of skill level. The out-and-back trail sets out from the car park and immediately begins to climb the gentle slope of the hillside to the northeast. Reaching the summit of Knott Rigg, you will have sweeping views of countless rugged fells in every direction and some partial views of Crummock Water to the west. After taking in the sights, retrace your steps down the hillside to return to the car park.
