Settlers Grove of Ancient Cedars Trail Description

Those seeking a relaxing, immersive hike in Northern Idaho are encouraged to explore the Settlers Grove of Ancient Cedars Trail. Lined with looming, moss-cloaked cedars and pines, the lush tree canopy will protect you from the elements whilst providing wonderful scenery. This area is subject to blowdown, on the trail and on the path to the trailhead, so come prepared to do some creative navigation.

Setting out from the West Fork of Eagle Creek Trailhead, you will be led northeastward into the lush woodlands. From here the path will begin to gradually climb, intersecting with the West Fork of Eagle Creek on occasion. Enjoy the shade of the towering cedars and the scene of the blossoming wildflowers carpeting the forest floor. Notice burn scar adorning a few of the trees that line the corridor.

Eventually, you will reach the confluence of Silver Creek and West Fork of Eagle Creek. While the route continues further, we chose to turn around here, retracing our steps all the way back to the trailhead.
