The Mount 7 Trail is a 5.6mi out-and-back hiking route near Golden, BC, that sets out from a paragliding launch site and climbs uphill to reach the summit of this iconic peak. Named for the “7” shaped sliver of snow that can be spotted on the side of the mountain in the early summer, this peak offers the best views over Golden and the surrounding area, including Navvy Peak to the north and Mount Hunter to the east. Don’t forget to bring your gear if you want to snowboard or ski the 7, which is a Golden rite of passage.
Getting there
To reach the trailhead for the Mount 7 Trail from Golden, drive southeast on BC-95 and turn left on Reflection Lake Road. After 1148ft, continue straight onto Bowle-Evans Drive and follow it for 8.8mi to reach the trailhead.

Mount 7 Trail Description
The Mount 7 Trail is a popular hiking route that will take you up to the summit of the mountain and bring you into contact with various outdoor activities that can be experienced within the Golden area. The trail sets out from a paragliding launch site and provides an awesome view of several adventurers gliding effortlessly through the clouds.
As you hike uphill along the forested ridge, you will eventually reach the summit and, depending on the time of year, can spot winter sports enthusiasts either skiing or snowboarding down the sliver of snow on the mountain. From the summit, you will have vast views overlooking the surrounding area, including the city of Golden to the northwest, Navvy Peak and Table Mountain to the north, as well as Mount Hunter and Porcupine Peak to the east. This trail is an excellent option for both casual and experienced hikers looking to admire the natural beauty of the Golden landscape.
