PCT to Pumice Flat Trail Description
PCT to Pumice Flat Trail is a connector mostly used by thru-hikers, but with pleasant stretches through old-growth pine forest and mountain views, it’s a nice choice for a day hike. This trail is lightly trafficked and not too difficult. We recommend bringing some bug spray if you’re visiting in the summertime.
From the highway, follow the PCT south. You’ll wander through the trees, with peekaboo mountain views to enjoy as you go. The route reaches a fork where Union Peak Trail branches off to the west; you’ll likely see even fewer people past this point, as most of the traffic on this first section is bound for Union Peak.
Continue southeast, climbing gradually up over a plateau to the three-way junction that marks the end of your outbound journey. Turn back here and retrace your steps.
