Fumarole Bay Trail Description
Fumarole Bay Trail is a very quiet trail on the southwestern coast of Wizard Island in Crater Lake. If you want to take advantage of a quieter route on the island than its top trails, this is a good pick. The route wanders along the lakeshore, offering lots of chances to sit for a while or dip your feet. This trail is very lightly trafficked.
The route is rocky, so hiking in your flip flops isn’t advisable.
From the dock, head up to the first junction, stay left, and then stay left again at the fork. You’ll hike down to the point, then back up again and along the shore. There are some areas to head off and scramble around, or maybe you’ll take a daring dip in the bay. Where the trail ends, turn back and retrace your steps.
