The Statue du Christ-Roi Hike is a quick and easy adventure in Crans Montana that is suitable for a variety of ages and skill levels. From the village of Lens you will climb the Châtelard Hill, where you will find the statue of the Christ-Roi (Christ the King) at the top.
Getting there
To reach Crans-Montana by car, take the exit of the A9 motorway (Rhône motorway) called "Sierre ouest". At the motorway exit, turn left and follow the signs for "Sierre". At the roundabout, turn right. Continue for 1640ft, then at the entrance to Sierre, turn left following the signs for "Crans-Montana". About 0.6mi after Chermignon-d'en-Bas village, take the second exit of the roundabout towards Lens. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Lens, follow the signs for the car park Pramounir.

Route Description for Statue du Christ-Roi Hike
Setting out from the trailhead in Lens, the Statue du Christ-Roi Hike will see you pass through the streets of the village at the foot of the bell tower whose carillon is made up of 24 bells. Continuing on, the path will begin its ascent towards the “Christ-Roi”, leaving the built-up area before undertaking the ascent of the hill on which you will see the statue that was erected in 1935. Along the climb you will find the various stations of the cross. From the summit, you will make your return along the same path to wrap up your time on the Statue du Christ-Roi Hike.
