Enjoy the views of the sprawling Cotswolds pastures as you walk through the countryside. Along your way, you’ll come across amazing views of the spectacular 200-year-old Sezincote estate that was styled to look like an Indian Palace!

Getting there

To start the Bourton on the Hill and Sezincote House Loop take the A44 from Moreton-in Marsh and drive towards Bourton on the Hill (East). Turn left at the junction just before the Quarry Stones B&B. Make your first right and you’ll find the trail just behind the Parish Church of Saint Lawrence. Once you’ve found street parking, you’ll find the path near Slatters Cottage.

To reach the Sezincote Estate, you’ll start your walk in the beautiful Bourton on the Hill. After taking in the lovely hilltop views from the village, you’ll embark on your walk on the Bourton on the Hill and Sezincote House Loop. Walk through the serene countryside and enjoy the famous Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Watch the birds and enjoy the wildflowers in the rolling hills as you walk towards Sezincote Estate, where you’ll be treated to views of this exquisite and unique Indian-style palace. There are many great sections for your dog to run, but please ensure they are on their leash if you come across any livestock. The Sezincote House itself is private property, so please keep to the footpath that surrounds the estate and be respectful of any wedding or event that might be taking place on the property.

When you complete the circular route and arrive back in Bourton on the Hill, you can enjoy some refreshments at the local pub. You may also want to walk around the village to admire the 16th-century barns and the gardens at Bourton house.
