Watergate Bay to Porth Beach Walk Description

Whether you are hoping to explore the sandy expanse of Watergate Bay Beach to stake out the best spot for the afternoon or are simply wanting to get outside for some exercise while enjoying some stunning seaside views, the Watergate Bay to Porth Beach Walk is the perfect adventure to enjoy the Cornish Coast. Walkers should take note that some light scrambling over rocky coastal terrain is required to access the beach portion of the walk.

Setting out from the car park, you will initially make your way west for a short distance to reach a footpath that runs parallel to the coast. After picking up the trail, you will follow it to the southwest along the rugged coastal terrain while taking in the breathtaking views across the Cornish Sea.

Reaching the southwest corner of the route, you will enjoy some amazing views of Porth Beach and Trevelgue Head, before traversing the rocky terrain to access the beach. As mentioned previously, this leg of the walk is only available during low tide, so be sure to check tide times before setting out.

After making your way over the rocks, you will head to the northeast to traverse the Whipsiderry and Watergate Bay beaches, eventually arriving back at the Watergate Bay Hotel. From here, simply make your way east from the beach to get back to the car park, or change into your swimwear to enjoy some fun in the sun!
