Talland Bay to Polperro Walk Description:

Walking the Talland Bay to Polperro Trail is a fun adventure along the Cornish Coast; however, the route will lead you through some coastal terrain that can be rugged at times. Be sure to wear proper walking shoes and exercise caution along the shoreline, as there will be some steep drop offs. Additionally, you will want to arrive early enough to secure parking at the trailhead.

If you are after views of the English Channel, secluded coves, and sleepy fishing villages, then you will certainly enjoy the Talland Bay to Polperro Walk. This short route will take you into the historic village of Polperro, where you will find narrow streets lined with charming houses and a scenic harbour where you can sit and watch the fishing vessels come and go. After experiencing the village, you will make your way east along the shoreline for views of the English Channel and Talland Bay, making this an excellent seaside adventure for a lazy weekend afternoon.

Setting out from the car park, make your way southwest along Bridals Lane for 120ft while enjoying the beautiful views of Talland Sand Beach and the blue expanse of Talland Bay to the south. Here, you will pick up the South West Coast Path on your left and head southwest through the light tree cover for 27ft to meet up with Sand Hill Road. Following along the road, you will continue to the southwest for 0.7mi until you meet up with Talland Hill Road.

Turning left here, you will follow the road to the southwest for 0.3mi, passing through the charming village streets of Polperro before arriving at a junction with Talland Street. Turn left here and follow the road along the water’s edge, as you take in some scenic views of the Polperro Harbour and surrounding village landscape.

After 0.3mi along this road, you will find a footpath on your right that marks that will take you along the coast. Head right here and follow the path as it heads closer to the water’s edge. Unless you want to take a brief detour down to a few scenic viewpoints along the coast, keep left until you reach a fork in 450ft. Here, you will head right and continue along the beautifully scenic coastal terrain for another 0.13mi, climbing uphill and traversing a series of steps to meet up with another junction.

Turning right here, you will continue making your way east to enjoy views overlooking Giggen Cove, before arriving at a fork in the path. Heading right once again, you will continue along the edge of Talland Bay for 0.6mi and enjoy some scenic views of the English Channel, eventually arriving at another fork. Turning right here, you will traverse the expanse of Talland Sands Beach to arrive at the edge of Bridals Lane, where you will make a left in order to make your way back to the car park.
