Kuggar to Helford Trail Description

Exploring the wonderful eastern edge of the Lizard Peninsula, the South West Coast Path: Kuggar to Helford will allow you to experience some charming little seaside villages and will produce some stunning views across the water. This lengthy trail features a bit of elevation gain that is spread throughout the route, so be prepared to feel a bit of a leg burn towards the end of the walk! As always, sturdy walking boots are definitely recommended to better traverse the rugged and often uneven terrain along the coast.

Setting out from the trailhead just outside of Kuggar, you will head to the east and pass the Kennack Sands beach, before climbing uphill for some beautiful views across the water. After passing by the Black Head Lookout, the trail will turn to the north to traverse an undulating stretch of terrain that is characterized by charming coves and villages. Once you have traversed the beautiful, coastal terrain along the eastern edge of the peninsula, the trail will turn to the west and follow along the banks of the Helford River on the way into the endpoint of the walk in Helford.
