Polruan and Lantic Bay Circular Walk

Although the Polruan and Lantic Bay Circular Walk isn’t the most challenging route along the Cornish Coast, it does feature some undulating terrain that will extend the length of your adventure and provide a bit of a challenge. In addition to bringing plenty of snacks and water, be sure to wear comfortable footwear for this adventure. For the same reasons above, this route is not suitable for less-mobile walkers or families with young children.

Even though the rolling hills along this route will be sure to tire you out, the breathtaking coastal scenery is more than enough to make up for your trouble. Dramatic cliffs, secluded bays, and the blue expanse of the English Channel all await on this fabulous excursion in Cornwall.

Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the northeast along the road, before picking up a path leading off to the right that follows along a line of trees. Here, you will keep right along the trail as it cuts across the open fields and descends the hillside, eventually bringing you to the coast.

At this point, you will make your way to the southwest and enjoy the scenic views across the English Channel, as you make your way around a rugged headland that juts out into the sea and overlooks the secluded Lantic Bay to the west. After traversing the headland, you will make your way above Lantic Bay and continue on to the southwest, passing by several secret coves, before entering into the village of Polruan.

Here, you will make your way through the village streets and loop around to the northeast to pass by the wharf, where you will find several great establishments, such as The Lugger Inn or Russell Inn for some mid-walk food and drink. Continuing on to the northeast, keep an eye out for signs marked as the Hall Walk and follow them to make your way out of Polruan.

Keeping on to the northeast, you will make your way through a stretch of woodland terrain that runs parallel to the River Fowey and eventually brings you to the Farm House on Pont Pill. Head to the southeast and continue through the forest, where you will quickly arrive at the Church of St Wyllow. From here, turn left along the road and follow it to the southeast to arrive back at the car park where you began the Polruan and Lantic Bay Circular Walk.
