Walking the Chacewater and Twelveheads Circular Trail is a lengthy adventure that will take you through a variety of terrain and several villages set in the Cornish countryside. While out on the trail, you will leave Chacewater behind to pass through Unity Wood and St Day on the way to Carn Marth, before heading east to make your way through Twelveheads and the Carnon Valley. This long walking route will provide you with some nice views of the countryside and the chance to pass through several charming villages in the region.

If you are looking to experience a variety of terrain and scenic views set in the backdrop of the Cornwall countryside, then the Chacewater and Twelveheads Circular Walk is a great way to do so. This lengthy adventure will see you pass through quaint villages, traverse fields and forests, and witness the effect that the mining industry has had on the region.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way northwest through Chacewater, following along the route as it turns to the southwest in order to traverse the open fields on the way to Unity Wood. After passing through the small forest and the village of St Day, you will continue on to the southwest and climb uphill to the top of Carn Marth, where you will enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding area.

After taking in the views, follow the trail as it leads to the northeast, passing through stretches of woodland terrain and fields marked with the scars of Cornwall’s rich mining history. Eventually, you will pass through the hamlet of Twelveheads and make your way north through theCarnon Valley on the return to the car park in Chacewater.
