Clipper Down and Steps Hill Walk Description
Meander through open fields, woodland, and meadows on the Clipper Down and Steps Hill walk, where wildflowers also blanket the land in abundance during the spring! The gentle elevation gain of 968ft stretching across 5.7mi makes this a fun walk for families with children who can handle the distance. Plus, Ashridge Estate is a beautiful area of the Chilterns, so it never hurts to get outside and explore it!
Setting out from your car, you’ll walk past the Bridgewater Monument, following the path as it veers right. Eventually, the path will head left, leaving the trees and heading into an open field. Once in the open area, turn right and continue along until you reach a Y-intersection. Here, you’ll go left onto Duncombe Ter., kickstarting the circuit portion of this lollipop route. When you reach the same intersection on the way back, go straight to head back to your car, where the walk began.
