Getting there
To get to the start of the Captain Woods Walk, follow Hivings Hill to the roundabout and continue straight to reach Mount Nugent. After 190ft, take a left onto a restricted usage road. Take another left after 154ft and follow the road to the end.

The Captains Wood Walk is a fantastic family-friendly, dog-friendly walk that immerses you in the varied scenery stretching across the Chilterns. Expect to see a fusion of undulating countryside views and wooded areas! From your car, set out towards Captains Wood, and since this is a lollipop route, you’ll get to enjoy this woodland when you return as well. After Captains Wood, the loop section of your walk begins, taking you left through a field towards Widmore Wood. After relishing in this woodland, you’ll head right at the next junction, emerging at the top of the circuit. Continue straight before taking the second right-hand turn, which will lead you back to Captains Wood and to your car, where your walk began
