The Figure Eight Trail Description
The Figure Eight Trail is a fantastic tour of Bryce Canyon National Park. This trail is moderately challenging with some steep and loose sections. Arrive prepared with proper hiking footwear and hiking poles if you’d like the extra support. It is important to note that the Wall Street section of this trail is periodically closed due to treacherous conditions, so make sure to check the NPS Trail Report before embarking on your hike. Though this hike is only 6.3mi long, you will want to give yourself plenty of time to complete it. The Figure Eight Trail only gets more beautiful with each twist and turn, and you may find yourself spending more time enjoying the views than hiking the trail!
To hike the Figure Eight Trail, begin at the Navajo Loop Trailhead and head southeast to Sunset Point, then down the switchbacks to Wall Street. At the Navajo Loop Benchmark, take the trail on your right and stay right at the next divide to hike along the Peekaboo Loop in a counterclockwise direction. At the south end of the Peekaboo Loop, stay left at the divide to stay on course. After completing the Peekaboo Loop, head back up to the Navajo Benchmark and take a right to make your way north along the Queen’s Garden Trail. After passing the Queen Victoria Formation, stay left at the subsequent divides to make your way safely back to the Navajo Loop Trailhead where you began.
If you wind up finishing your hike late in the day, we recommend catching the sunset from Sunset Point before packing up the car and heading back home.
