Sunrise Point Description

The Sunrise Point Trail is a short and sweet hike to an incredible overlook in Bryce Canyon National Park. This trail is accessible year-round, but gets very icy in the winter and early spring. If you are hiking at that time of year, we strongly recommend wearing a pair of traction devices such as microspikes to prevent a slip and fall. If you are hiking this route at sunrise, be sure to bring a cozy layer or a blanket to fight off the morning chill as you watch the sun peek over the horizon.

Even if you are not an early-riser, the Sunrise Point Trail is a must-do on your trip to Bryce Canyon National Park. This short out-and-back hike offers a whole lotta bang for your buck. The trail itself is mostly flat and the views at the end are guaranteed to take your breath away. With a fantastic panoramic view of the Byrce Amphitheater, and the perfect perches on which to watch the sunrise, a hike along the Sunrise Point Trail is one to remember.

From the Trailhead, follow the path east for approximately 100 yards, before taking a right at the divide. Continue along the path to an intersection of several trails and continue on the path straight ahead to hike the last few hundred yards to Sunrise Point.

If you are hiking this trail in the wee hours of the morning, find a cozy spot at Sunrise Point and snuggle up with your loved ones to watch the sunrise above the stunning Utah landscape.
