Yosemite National Park
Oh Yosemite – there is so much to say, but do we really even need to say anything at all? Yosemite National Park is world renowned. It is fairly safe to say that the writings of John Muir, Yosemite’s most famous advocate, have drawn thousands of people to the outdoors and to Yosemite. A trip to Yosemite is a standard on many holiday checklists: sightseers, nature seekers, families and outdoor adventurers all have Yosemite on the list and for good reason! It’s stunning!
Yosemite is full of wonder, from some of the nation’s tallest waterfalls to giant sequoia tree groves, mountains and cliff sides, beautiful clear lakes and streams, and stunning glaciers all in a whopping 1,168 square miles. Yosemite is incredible, and the best part is that 95% of the park is pure wilderness.
Yosemite feels like two different parks. Yosemite Valley is home to some stunning geological formations which will amaze you year-after-year. Some of the best climbing routes in the US are in the Yosemite Valley. The Valley is also warmer and accessible year-round. The alpine areas of Yosemite are completely different. Accessed by the wonderful Tioga Road, this opens up alpine hiking and peak-bagging, and is a fantastic road bike ride, especially before the road is open to vehicles.
You cannot go wrong with a holiday to Yosemite National Park – there is so much to see and do that whatever you have time for it is guaranteed to be great! The pure beauty of the land is magnificent and there are an unlimited number of ways to explore – hiking, biking, fishing, rafting and climbing to name a few, and most of the iconic sites are accessible without joining a tour.
Don’t wait, make this the year you plan a trip to Yosemite National Park!
