San Francisco’s North Bay Area is rich in its variety of foliage, breathtaking coastal views, and many critters to observe! The North Bay has lots of great camping locations, small towns to explore, and many places for all kinds of water adventures. Most of the bays and inlets up the coast have kayak rentals and lessons for those just starting out. The North Bay also has great hiking and biking trails to explore.
The North Bay is connected to San Francisco by the Golden Gate Bridge, which itself is a great walk for tourists in the area. The North Bay is home to some great nature areas: Marin Headlands, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Muir Woods National Monument and Mt Tamalpais State Park to name but a few.
