Route Description for Marymere Falls

Just beside the Ranger Station begin along the trail signed towards Marymere Falls. You will initially head east, descending down to the river before crossing under the highway and veering west again.

After a few hundred feet the trail will veer south as you head deep into the shaded temperate rainforest. You will arrive at a junction with the Storm King Trail; continue strait towards Marymere Falls. As you continue, you will get good views of Barnes Creek gurgling down.

You will reach another junction; turn right towards Marymere Falls. Shortly thereafter you will wind around the river and cross it on a nice bridge. A hundred feet further on you will cross another, more rickety bridge. You will soon arrive at a junction where you will turn left. You’ll begin your short but steep ascent to the falls.

Once you have finished your ascent on the well-maintained trail, you can appreciate the falls from this lower viewpoint. Another view can be achieved by continuing to gain a few more switchbacks to the upper viewpoint. From here you will then continue along the trail and meet back up with the original trail, completing the short loop portion of the hike.

Return the way you came back along the main trail to the parking lot.

The wooden bridge seems very old, but they still work, so I guess it's fine.
