Old Salmon River Trail Description
While it may be close to the road, the Old Salmon River Trail still feels like a secluded forest adventure, making it the ideal route to spend an afternoon hiking with the kids in Mount Hood National Forest.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way south through the forest, quickly approaching the edge of the Salmon River. Here, you will be able to enjoy the intermittent sights and sounds of the water, as you work your way through the peaceful woodland landscape.
Eventually, you will arrive at the edge of Salmon River Road, which marks the turnaround point of the hike. From here, simply retrace your steps and relive the beautiful scenery as you make your way through the forest.
