Revett Lake Trail Description
If we had to name one of the most scenic hikes in Idaho, the Revett Lake Trail would be a top contender. While this track is short, it is chock full of wonderment and gorgeous scenery—so don’t forget your camera. Hike through lush pine tickets and vibrant alpine meadows up to the unassuming lake ringed with towering evergreens and looming granite bluffs. Perfect for fishing, hiking, and camping, this route sees plenty of traffic, so head out in the early morning to beat the crowds. Note the road up to the trailhead is a bit rough and rugged, so a vehicle with high ground clearance is recommended.
Setting out from the trailhead, your adventure along the Revett Lake Trail tracks southwestwardly. Initially climbing beneath the canopy, the path will briefly open into a meadow, boasting views of the encompassing wilderness before dipping back beneath the tree shade. When exploring in the spring you may have to ford a small creek, though you will likely be able to boulder hop. After some hiking, you will navigate a wide switchback before scrambling up to the lakeshore.
Admire the beauty of the emerald-hued pool hemmed by lush conifers and impressive granite bluffs. Take a refreshing dip in the rejuvenating waters, then head back down to the trailhead the way you came.
