The Ice Lake to Wolf Lake Trail is a gorgeous, low-traffic route in Yellowstone National Park. This trail can get buggy, so be sure to pack some bug spray or wear long layers to deter the mosquitos. Besides just mosquitoes, you are likely to encounter wildlife on this trail, including deer and moose. Bears are sometimes seen on this trail, so make sure you are familiar with bear safety protocols and bring a canister of bear spray along with you. Whether you are heading out on this trail for a day hike or planning for a few nights in the backcountry, the Ice Lake to Wolf Lake Trail is a wonderful way to spend some quality time in the peace and quiet of the Wyoming wilderness.
Beginning at the Ice Lake Trailhead, follow the path north to Ice Lake. Loop around the north shore of the lake, then cross over the Gibbon River to make your way northeast to Wolf Lake.
Enjoy your time exploring the shores of Wolf Lake. When you are ready to head home, simply retrace your steps back to the Ice Lake Trailhead, where you began.
