Golden Gate Park Loop Description
The Golden Gate Park Loop is an incredible adventure in San Francisco that boasts a variety of scenery and outdoor pursuit opportunities. Exhibiting the area’s diversity of flora, this route travels through rose gardens, redwoods, tulip gardens, past Bison abundant meadows, and more. Note that there are several intersecting routes and junctions which are not well signposted, so we encourage you to use the trail GPS.
Embark on your adventure along the Golden Gate Park Loop from the trailhead and parking lot off Greta Highway. From here, using the trail GPS, you will be guided along the Perimeter Trail over John F. Kennedy Drive. From here, the route will travel along the golf course and the Bison Paddock. From here, the path will near Spreckels Lake before tracing the boundary of the back nine and ultimately into a rose garden. From here, the path will pass Bunny and Peacock Meadows before diverting southwest past the Robin Williams Meadow.
Continue trekking west, passing Stow Lake, Mallard Lake, and South Lake. Soon the path will redirect you north, offering views of the Pacific in the west before delivering you back to the trailhead.
