Amy and Granite Lakes Hike Description
Hiking the Amy and Granite Lakes Trail makes for an unforgettable adventure. Revel in the beauty of the backcountry and walk amongst wildlife and lush vegetation on your way to the crystalline lakes. Note the trail has been reported as poorly signposted, so we suggest bringing along our trail GPS. If you are daring enough to tackle this trek in the winter months, be sure to strap on a pair of snowshoes to navigate the snow-cloaked terrain more easily. Lastly, the road into the trailhead is rough and narrow; take your time when driving in.
Setting out from the trailhead, the Amy and Granite Lakes Hike follows the Granite Lake/ Hidden Lake Trail south, through mixed pine woodlands. Admire the beauty of the old-growth forest and continue tracking south to a junction. From the intersection, we head right over to Amy Lake—the smaller pool of the two. Appreciate the charm of the small lake, then head southeast over to Granite Lake.
Granite Lake is bounded by impressive granite outcrops, living up to its name. This is a great spot to cool off or sun yourself in the summer months. When you are ready, hike north along the Granite Lake/ Hidden Lake Trail, ultimately delivering you back to the trailhead.
