The Cowboy Jacuzzi Trail is a rugged, dog-friendly hike just outside of Moab, UT. This trail is not maintained, so hikers should be comfortable with route-finding and potentially some light bushwhacking. This trail passes by panels of petroglyphs left by the Ute and/or Ananzi Peoples and ends at a popular swimming hole.

Getting there

Head southeast on highway 191 out of Moab, UT and take a left onto Mill Creek Drive just outside of the city limits. Head north for 0.9mi before turning right onto Powerhouse Lane. The path to Cowboy Jacuzzis via the Mill Creek Rim Trail begins at the end of Powerhouse Lane.

Cowboy Jacuzzis via Mill Creek Rim Trail Description

The Cowboy Jacuzzis via the Mill Creek Rim Trail is a fun and adventurous loop just outside the city limits of Moab, UT. This trail is not maintained and can be a bit of a bushwack, so we recommend bringing along a GPS or downloaded map and a good sense of adventure. This trail passes by several panels of petroglyphs drawn by the people Indigenous to this area—please do not touch or lean against these panels and do not leave any drawings of your own along the trail. This hike can be a great way to get out and explore the Moab desert on a summer day.

From the parking area, head east and immediately start looking for the trail on the right. Take this path and follow the trail for the next 2.0mi. You will see a couple of trails branching off on either side, but just stick to the path ahead. After 2.0mi, cut down to Mill Creek to find the Cowboy Jacuzzi.

Go for a swim or rest by the poolside before following the creek back out to the trailhead.
