Carn Euny Trail Description

For those interested in the history of Cornwall, the Carn Euny Trail is an exceptional adventure that will provide a fascinating window into the past. Several ancient structures can be found throughout the walk, and interpretive signs provide a wealth of information on the historic inhabitants of the area. This is a great walking route for history lovers and anyone that wants to experience the natural beauty of the Cornish countryside.

Setting out from the car park, you will follow a track north that will lead you to the ancient village of Carn Euny. Here, you will find well-preserved examples of stone buildings that date back to the Iron Age, although the site is thought to have been inhabited since the Neolithic period.

After exploring the village, you will make your way east across the open terrain, climbing slightly uphill to reach a hilltop enclosure known as Caer Bran. Retracing your steps back towards the village, you will pass by it and skirt around the edge of some trees to reach the Carn Euny Holy Well. After visiting this hidden site, you will make your way east to explore a different section of the ancient village, before arriving back at the car park where you began.
